I'm frustrated with the fact that many colleges don't consider the SAT Writing section. I got my best section score on Writing, and I'm disappointed that some schools won't see it. What's the deal with this? |
The Writing section is the newest section of the test, and it has limited predictive value compared to the other sections. Critical Reading and Math have been around for a long time, so colleges place more trust in these section scores as indications of potential. The 25 minute essay isn't a great way to assess writing ability as a whole. Colleges can rely on your high school grades and college essay to determine your writing ability more reliably. |
