Has anyone ever gotten a 1 on the ACT? Is it even possible?

Yes, it is technically possible to get a 1 as a composite score on the ACT. However, it's extremely rare. Only one percent of students score below an 11 on the test.

Based on the following report, in 2015 only a single person got a composite score of 1 on the ACT. A few more students did earn 1s on individual sections. The highest number of students to earn 1s on an individual section was 135 for the Science section, followed by 85 students for the Reading section, 76 for the English section, and 63 for the Math section.
