I want to know how to economize on my energy the day of the test in the morning. What time can I reasonably expect the New SAT to start after they get through instructions, delays, etc?

Assuming you arrive at the testing center at 7:45 AM (as recommended by College Board), there will be between 45 min and 1hr 15 min from the time of your arrival to the time you start testing. Settling into the test room and filling out your personal details (name, address, school ID number, etc) takes some time, and it'll vary from classroom how long your proctor takes to read the instructions, so the New SAT will start somewhere between 8:30 AM and 9:00 AM.
