AP classes?

Hi! I have a tough question! I am a junior. I just took the PSAT and made a 1480 (221 in National Merit), so I will qualify to be a NM semifinalist. I am a homeschooled student and have done: biology in 9th grade, chemistry in 10th, and am currently doing physics. To qualify for National Merit Final...

Can PrepScholar be used to study for the PSAT?

My son, 2018 grad, is taking the PSAT in October 2016. His entire class took the PSAT 10 in October 2015, where he scored just under 1200. There was no prep or discussion. They just walked in and took it. He left several questions blank due primarily to time constraint, and he had a lower score in m...

Can I study for the PSAT and SAT on PrepScholar?

I'm currently a sophomore and I will be taking the PSAT and SAT next year. To save time, do you recommend that I use PrepScholar to study for both tests, or should I study using separate prep programs? I want to get high scores on both tests.

Is there any harm in sending my SAT scores to National Merit?

I recently took the in-school SAT and realized that I have some free score reports. I wasn't planning on doing anything with this new SAT score (because I did fine on my ACT). I was wondering if I could send my past score (2020 from November) + the SAT I just took to the National Merit people in ca...

Do I need to take the SAT in order to be a National Merit Finalist?

I probably did well enough on the PSAT to qualify. I live in an ACT state so that is the test I have prepped and taken. Do I need to take the SAT or will my ACT score suffice?

Is it too early for me to start studying for the SAT?

I have some free time over the summer, so I was considering studying for the SAT. I'll be a junior next year, but I won't take my first SAT until January or March. If it's relevant, I'm taking the PSAT/NMSQT in October, and I would love to get some form of recognition from that test. Should I start ...

Should a junior take the SAT in October?

I was planning on taking the SAT in October but then I realized I am also taking the PSAT that month. Would it be ok to take it then or would that be too many standardized tests in a short period of time?

How does the SAT compare to the PSAT?

I did pretty well on the PSAT, but I'm still a little nervous about the real SAT. Will it be significantly harder than the PSAT? What concepts and types of questions will I see on the SAT that weren't on the PSAT?

Automatic financial aid for National Merit Finalist?

My daughter is a junior and has received PSAT scores that mean she'll likely be a National Merit Finalist. We are looking at schools with significant automatic merit aid for NMF. Some schools, like University of Kentucky, appear to award large scholarships at the National Merit Finalist level. Other...

Do I have enough time to study?

I'm a junior, and I'm planning on taking the SAT on March 5th, the first proctoring of the new test. I took the PSAT in October and got a 680 in Critical Reading and Writing and a 480 in Math. Clearly Math is not my strong suit. In the past week I've buckled down and started seriously preparing for...

1450+ on the SAT with 1200 PSAT score?

I took the new PSAT this fall as a sophomore, and I got a 1200. I'm a little disappointed because I'm hoping for a 1450 or higher on the new version of the SAT, and I'm worried it's going to be tough to improve that much. Is 1450 a realistic goal? How does my PSAT score translate to an SAT score? I'...

I'm taking the PSAT Junior fall - when should I take the SAT?

I'm taking the PSAT in October. When would be the best time for me to take the SAT for the first time? I think I want to take it twice, but that depends on how well I do the first time.

Should I Take the SAT Junior Fall?

I'm a sophomore, and I already took the PSAT. I was planning on taking the SAT junior fall and then again junior spring if necessary. Is this a good idea, or should I wait to take the SAT until junior spring?

PSAT Math How to Avoid Running Out of Time?

On PSAT practice tests, I consistently score in the low 200s without time constraints. On the real PSAT, I've scored in the 150-190 range twice because I can't get to all of the questions. Most of my time issues are in the math section. What can I do to fix this problem?
