Do essay scores have to be sent to colleges with the test score?

When I send a college my SAT score is the essay score automatically sent with it? I would rather only send the test score to colleges that don't require or recommend the essay as they are higher than the essay score of my test. Also is the essay super scored with the other 2 sections?

I considered taking the subject tests this December as well. Is it more advantageous to re-take the SAT or to...

Good SAT Score Possible on First Attempt?

Is it possible to get a decent SAT score (1400-1600) in the first attempt? I'm giving the test in January which means I'll only get one attempt. SAT superscoring - is it worth it for a very small point increase?

I've taken the SAT twice. My first score was a 1520, and my second score was a 1580. My issue is that I actually scored 10 points higher on one section when I got the 1520, so my superscore comes out to a 1590. Is it worth it to send both of these scores to colleges so I have a higher superscore? Or...
